BRANDE – Danish fashion company Bestseller has linked up with UK materials innovator Biophilica which is developing a compostable plastic-free leather alternative from leaves.
Biophilica's 'Treekind' leather alternative is formulated with lignocellulose from leaves and a natural binder, which is designed to break down in soil or water.
Bestseller menswear brand Jack & Jones will test the innovative material's suitability for making more 'sustainable' leather alternative shoes.
