ARLINGTON - Garment workers benefit when global brands and retailers accept standardised audits from their supplier factories, according to research carried out by the Better Buying Institute (BBI).
BBI president and co-founder Marsha Dickson reported on the findings of the Better Buying Purchasing Practices Index (BBPPI) 2022 in an address to today's general assembly of the Social and Labor Convergence Program (SLCP).
She said that 63.8 per cent of suppliers participating in the index said that their buyers accepted standardised audits, rather than buyer-specific audits or assessments, and reported a range of benefits.
