SAN FRANCISCO – The Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) has announced fashion retailer Target as the latest company to join its Fashion Climate Fund as a ‘lead funder’.
Target joins Lululemon, H&M, H&M Foundation, and the Schmidt Family Foundation, each of which have committed US$10 million to the project to drive collective action to tackle fashion's supply chain emissions.
The Fashion Climate Fund aims to leverage industry and philanthropic funds to help transition the industry to renewable electricity, improve energy efficiency, eliminate coal power, scale sustainable materials and practices, and accelerate next-generation materials.
