LEEK - Researchers have been examining historical changes in a Staffordshire river linked to textile production during the industrial revolution to gain a better understanding of the environmental challenges of today.
A new report from the Fashion Revolution initiative details the research conducted on the social and environmental impacts of the textile industry on the River Churnet at Leek and the nearby Rudyard Lake.
The 'Restorying Riverscapes' project took place during spring and summer this year, bringing together Fashion Revolution and researchers from Keele University and Loughborough University, alongside local community groups.
