WAKAYAMA – Japanese textile technology supplier Shima Seiki has teamed up with Tokyo-based telecoms firm KDDI Corporation to unveil a high-tech tool that enables users to visualise garments from any angle, in 360 degrees, on various devices without the need for physical samples.
Traditionally, the textile industry produces vast amounts of product samples in each of the planning and design stages, which not only costs time and money, but also generates enormous amounts of waste materials that are often disposed of unnecessarily.
