BERLIN - Members of the ACT initiative, which include 19 global brands and the IndustriALL global union, have today moved to pressure garment and textile factories in Turkey into respecting workers' rights.
ACT, which is supported by major fashion companies including ASOS, Bestseller, C&A, Esprit, G-Star Raw, H&M, Inditex, Next, Primark, PVH and Zalando, campaigns for supply chain garment workers to be paid a living wage.
It has now added an annex to its ACT Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the industry in Turkey in which suppliers to ACT brands are told they must allow their workers the right to freedom of association.
