AMSTERDAM – Industry organisations Fashion for Good (FFG) and Textile Exchange (TE) have teamed up to launch the ‘Textile Tracer Assessment’, a new resource enabling stakeholders – from brands and retailers to certification bodies – to learn about the plethora of new solutions available to the sector.
Such technologies have grown in prominence amidst the industry’s push to clamp down on counterfeiting and greenwashing, as they help companies authenticate the origin of their materials.
Katrin Ley, managing director of Fashion for Good, commented: “This is only the beginning of this collaborative project, as more technologies mature and improve capabilities are added, it will provide the industry with an indispensable tool for traceability implementation.”
