LONDON – British fashion brand Stella McCartney is to launch what’s said to be the world’s first luxury bag made using mycelium.
The company renewed its partnership with material innovator Bolt Threads for the project, using its Mylo brand of vegan leather made from the root-like structure of funghi.
Dan Widmaier, founder and chief executive at Bolt Threads, said in a statement: “It’s been an honour to partner so closely with Stella and her team as they break new ground in luxury fashion with Mylo.”
