MEMPHIS – The US Cotton Trust Protocol has announced that its grower participation for the 2021/22 crop has doubled since its pilot last year.
In March, the organisation extended the enrolment period amidst a spike in interest from growers, which has translated into an estimated one million cotton acres onboarded.
Gary Adams, the protocol’s president, commented: “Our grower members are global leaders when it comes to sustainable cotton production, and as supply chain membership continues to grow, producers are encouraged to join the initiative to help ensure there is enough cotton in the system to meet demand.”
