VALENCIA – Spanish textile innovator Recover has been recognised with the Green Product Award in the fashion category for its ‘sustainable’ fibre.
The firm’s flagship material is made from recycled post-industrial and post-consumer waste and is said to use significantly less water, energy and land than conventional cotton.
“The production of fashion is a major source of carbon emissions worldwide and at the same time the lifespan of a garment is becoming shorter and shorter. Recover has found a solution to both problems through the circular economy principle,” stated the Green Product Award’s jury.
