HO CHI MINH CITY — The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) has collaborated with the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) to launch an initiative designed to promote improved water quality, improved river basin governance and sustainable energy use in the country’s textile and garment sector.
In reports commissioned by the co-operative venture, meeting national standards on wastewater discharge and the implementation of practices to improve water use efficiency were highlighted as some of the key areas in need of improvement.
Another development yielded by the collaboration is the launch of an online tool to assess both basin and operational water risks.
