LONDON – The Open Apparel Registry (OAR) database of global garment manufacturing facilities is expanding the information it shares in a move which it says will enable brands to fulfil their pledges on transparency.
After nine months of consultation with stakeholders across the apparel sector, as well as a chance for the public to comment, five new data points were chosen to be added to the OAR's database.
It will now be disclosing information on the number of workers employed, the parent company, the type of products made, the type of facility, and the type of processing carried out, on top of the information it already shares.
