NANJING – Fast fashion retailer Shein has launched the Shein Cares Fund, and will over the coming years donate US$10 million to non-profits supporting underserved communities, tackling animal health and welfare, and promoting recycling and the circular economy.
The first beneficiary, Vital Voices – which helps female leaders address environmental and social issues – will be given US$500,000 over two years to broaden its remit and offer mentorship programmes around the world.
“Organisations like Vital Voices are critical given the challenges of inequity globally, and the reinforcement of barriers to economic development. In addition to our partners at Vital Voices, we hope the Shein Cares Fund will further support many organisations around the world who are on the front lines of tackling tough challenges,” Molly Miao, Shein’s chief marketing officer commented.
