NANJING - Ultra fast fashion giant Shein has raised eyebrows by launching a sustainable collection which it says will be an "affordable option for customers seeking to make a positive impact with their product choices".
Shein - which launches about 6,000 new products per day - says the 'EvoluShein' collection will feature responsibly sourced materials, inclusive sizing and support women’s empowerment projects worldwide.
However, industry critics said the announcement amounted to 'greenwashing' and described the company's sustainability ambitions as a "teeny weeny little plaster over a very wide seeping wound".
