STOCKHOLM - Swedish retailer H&M says it will no longer accept new suppliers with coal-powered boilers after the end of this year as part of its efforts to reduce its impact on climate change.
H&M says it will also help its existing suppliers transition away from fossil fuels - including investing in renewable energy projects in sourcing countries - although it has not yet set a deadline for this to happen.
The announcement was made by the company as part of a post on its website in which it spells out actions it is taking to mitigate climate change, beyond the COP26 summit in Glasgow.
