NORTHAMPTON - The Leather Working Group (LWG) trade body has announced the launch of what it describes as the largest lifecycle assessment (LCA) study ever carried out into the leather industry.
It sees the LCA study as a key tool to show off the advances made so far and the challenges that lie ahead in reducing the environmental impact of leather manufacturing.
Working with Milan-based sustainability consultancy Spin360, the LWG has already begun the first phase of the LCA which focuses on the material made in LWG-certified facilities.
