NORTHAMPTON - The Leather Working Group (LWG) trade body has pledged to accelerate the traceability requirements of its LWG Leather Manufacturer Audit in a drive to ensure that its members' leather is 100 per cent deforestation and conversion free (DCF).
The announcement comes after more than 100 world leaders at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow promised to end and reverse deforestation by 2030.
The LWG Leather Manufacturer Audit, which features social, traceability and chemical management requirements, is the organisation's flagship environmental certification.
