LOS ANGELES — Garment label manufacturer Avery Dennison's emissions reductions targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as consistent with levels required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.
The SBTi says the company's targets on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from its operations (scopes 1 and 2) are in line with reductions required to keep warming to no more than 1.5°C, the most ambitious goal of the Paris Agreement.
Meanwhile, Avery Dennison says its target for emissions from its value chain (scope 3) meets the SBTi’s criteria for ambitious value chain goals, meaning it too is aligned with current best practice.
