TOKYO - Uniqlo owner Fast Retailing has revealed that its targets for reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by the end of the decade have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
The company is aiming to reduce emissions in its own operations by 90 per cent, and to reduce emissions from the production of raw materials for products, fabric production and garment manufacturing by 20 per cent, by 2030.
In both cases, the reductions will be measured against a 2019 baseline. Fast Retailing is also aiming to switch all of the electricity used in its own operations to renewable energy by 2030.
