NEW YORK – Animal welfare group PETA has backed the decision of fashion brand Oscar de la Renta to finally ban fur from its fashion collections and stores by October 2021.
A statement from PETA’s US executive vice president, Tracy Reiman, acknowledged the pressure group’s efforts may have been partly instrumental in the New York-based brand deciding to go fur-free, but she still hailed the move as commendable and hopes more brands will follow suit.
