SAN FRANCISCO – The Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) is partnering with sustainable finance company Bank of the West to introduce the 'Clean by Design' (CBD) programme in the garment supply chain in its native California.
The company, which is already operating CBD programmes in seven regions throughout Europe and Asia, has already begun a feasibility study on creating a tailored version of the programme for the US state which could later be expanded.
"Once proven in California, our programmes, including best practices and solutions, may be taken to new regions," Aii president Lewis Perkins told Ecotextile News.
