BERLIN - Textile chemical management specialist Bluesign has been recognised by the German government as a credible measure of sustainable manufacturing for public procurement purposes.
Bluesign said it was proud to be able to contribute to the sustainable production of textiles and improved consumer safety for public servants and other people using publicly-procured textiles.
Thomas Schaefer, head of the Bluesign Academy, said: “Public procurement of textile articles is a large market - workwear for fire fighters, police forces, the military, bed linens for hospitals etc - and governments will increasingly focus on the procurement of sustainable textiles.
