AMSTERDAM - Signatories to the Dutch Agreement on Sustainable Garments and Textile (AGT) have again significantly increased their sourcing of more sustainable raw materials.
The proportion of sustainable raw materials sourced by AGT members, who are obliged to share annually their usage of raw materials, amounted to 38 per cent in 2019, the new figures reveal.
That was a substantial increase on the previous year, when 28 per cent of raw materials were classed as more sustainable, which itself was a big rise on the 16 per cent recorded in 2017.
