AMSTERDAM - An independent final evaluation of the Dutch Agreement on Sustainable Garments and Textile (AGT) concludes it has taken "significant steps" forward but been unable to fully achieve its targets.
However, it has been revealed that those behind the initiative, which include fashion companies, trade associations, unions, NGOs and the government, are now exploring the possibility of a new agreement.
AGT chairman Pierre Hupperts said that KIT Royal Tropical Institute's final evaluation of the initiative, which has ended after five-and-a-half years, offered a starting point for future co-operation.
