BRUSSELS - European textile and clothing industry body Euratex is planning to create five major hubs to process textile waste across Europe to upscale recycling and circularity.
Called European Textile Recycling Hubs (ReHubs), the joint initiative aims to help deal with the extra textile waste that will be collected when separate collections become mandatory under EU legislation in 2025.
Euratex has identified five countries as the ideal hosts for the hubs - Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy and Spain - however, they would operate across borders and serve countries across the European Union (EU).
