PENNSYLVANIA – Dick’s Sporting Goods has joined Target and Walmart in supporting a new initiative that will vie to phase out single-use point-of-sale plastic bags in stores by 2025.

This project, by Closed Loop Partners, called the Centre for the Circular Economy’s Consortium, has set out to challenge the status quo by spotlighting viable carrier alternatives.

“Our customers are outdoor enthusiasts who are passionate about working together to keep our planet clean and safe for future generations,” said Peter Land, chief communications and sustainability officer at Dick's Sporting Goods.
