LONDON – The British Heart Foundation (BHF) charity has partnered with online resale platform Depop to accelerate the sale of its secondhand fashion collection.
BHF, which was forced to close all 750 of its stores at the height of the pandemic, says it expects to lose upwards of £50 million in funding this year, which goes towards vital scientific research.
Now, the charity hopes to optimise its outreach by tapping into Depop’s marketplace of more than 16 million users. “Depop has given us a great opportunity to sell to an audience looking for special ‘one of a kind’ items at affordable prices, and who value the importance of shopping preloved,” commented BHF’s retail director, Allison Swaine-Hughes.
