LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Apparel, the factory which was closed in June after more than 350 of its staff caught COVID-19 leading to the deaths of four, has reopened and been tipped to become a gold standard for garment manufacture amidst the pandemic.

This the hope of Vincent Garrett, consultant at Chant Training Academy, who is working with owner Dov Charney to best address workplace safety for its 2,290 staff.

New features at the site include facial recognition software to monitor those clocking in and out, and a reformatted floor plan that’ll enable workers to remain six feet apart.
