NEW YORK - European consumers want fashion players to act responsibly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and consider their social and environmental impacts, according to a new survey carried out by management consultants McKinsey and Company.
The poll of more than 2,000 UK and German consumers indicates that shoppers have become more engaged in sustainability during the crisis, presenting an opportunity for the fashion industry to reiterate its commitment to sustainability, says the company.
Two thirds felt it had become even more important to limit climate change, while 88 per cent of respondents believe that more attention should be paid to reducing pollution.
