PHNOM PENH - A three-year campaign is to be launched to improve road safety for garment workers who travel to and from work in often overcrowded open trucks in Cambodia.
Road accidents are common with 50 garment workers killed and around 2,000 injured in more than 1,500 accidents in the country in 2019, according to National Social Security Fund (NSSF) statistics.
Three organisations - the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation, the Solidarity Centre and the US Agency for International Development - are now launching a campaign to improve road safety for garment workers.
