YANGON – Myanmar state counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi says garment factories resuming operations must be closely monitored, even after passing safety inspections, to ensure business owners continue to enforce safety measures and protect lives.
Counsellor Suu Kyi alludes to a recent spike of infections recorded in Singapore, after thousands of workers recently returned to work. She says Myanmar must “learn a lesson” from their rich neighbours, and remain vigilant to reduce the risk of transmission between workers.
