MUNICH – Following the launch of its first sustainability report, Ecotextile News caught up with fabric supplier Pertex to gain greater insight into the company’s outlook on the outdoor industry and its aim to meet various sustainability targets by a 2022 deadline.
The company has established a number of goals, namely to ensure 80 per cent of its fabrics portfolio contains more than 50 per cent recycled content, whilst also looking to more broadly utilise non-fluorinated textile finishes.
Pertex is also set to ditch conventional bath dyeing in favour of a solution dyed approach through which it hopes to substantially eliminate water by as much as 60 per cent.
