LONDON – The Textile Recycling Association has supported proposals in the latest DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) policy paper, which have identified textiles as one of five priority material streams which will be reviewed and consulted upon.
Alan Wheeler, director of the Textile Recycling Association, noted that the organisation is encouraged by a “promising framework upon which we could build future resource management objectives.”
In particular, the focus on measures such as Extended Producer Responsibility and Product Standards have drawn strong praise from the association.
