LONDON – Textile recycling enterprise Newlife has joined the UK government-backed Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP), as part of its goal to help over 200 high street fashion brands meet their environmental and corporate social responsibility ambitions.
Newlife has been running its clothing recycling operation for more than 20 years, turning surplus high street fashion stock including clothes, shoes and handbags into equipment for thousands of vulnerable and disadvantaged children across the UK.
Sheila Brown OBE explained: “becoming a member of SCAP will enable us to further enhance the way we work with our partners and continue to improve the environmental product management service we provide.”
