SURSEE - Swiss fashion brand Calida's COO Daniel Gemperle says the label has proved that consumers are prepared to pay a premium for sustainable clothing.
In an exclusive interview with Ecotextile News, he said sales of the company's products, which include fully-compostable clothing and a range carrying Oeko-Tex's Made in Green label, were growing despite the higher price of sustainability.
Gemperle said: "Pricewise, there has indeed been a slight increase. But there are good reasons why. Certifications are not exactly inexpensive because they are issued by external companies, who regularly conduct audits and certifications for a fee.
