OAKLAND – Ahead of its launch next year, the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute has today opened a 60-day window in which it wants industry stakeholders to feedback on potential revisions to its drafted Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard version 4.
Between 5 August and 4 October, the non-profit organisation has called on industry to provide comment on an updated iteration of its standard, which focuses on responsible production and consumption. This to ensure all existing and new requirements meet the ever-changing sustainability targets and ambitions of the brands and manufacturers which comply.
“The draft standard reflects a continued evolution in our understanding of how product design and manufacturing affects environmental and human health issues of critical global concern,” Dr. Susan Klosterhaus, Institute vice president of science and certification said. “As a result, the draft standard reflects rigorous yet feasible requirements across all five certification categories, including material health, product circularity, renewable energy and climate, water stewardship, and social fairness.”
