AMSTERDAM – In a major new collaborative approach to chemical management, ZDHC signatory brands Levi Strauss, Nike, H&M and C&A have come together to share and align their screened textile chemistry programmes and hand them over to the ZDHC for future development.

With many sectors of the textile industry calling for the greater harmonisation of chemical management in supply chains, this move accelerates ZDHC’s long-term strategy to implement a transparent process that promotes better chemistry with a focus on evaluating safer alternatives and driving innovation.

“Although the efforts of Levi Strauss, Nike, H&M and C&A were not initiated together, the core elements of their different screened chemistry methodologies are remarkably similar – both in their approach and ultimate goals,” said the ZDHC.

These four brands will now form the core of a new ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme ‘Task Team’ and will invite other brand contributors and partners to continue work on this new initiative.
