LONDON – IndustriALL Global Union, which represents garment workers around the world, has stated that apparel companies in the UK “need to get much more serious about reforming working conditions in their global supply chains.”
In its submission to the Environmental Audit Committee, IndustriALL claims wages and working conditions in the global supply chains of UK clothing brands and retailers are below international labour standards and that CSR efforts by these firms have had little impact on addressing the systemic problems.
