LEICESTER – The vast majority of consumers are not aware of the negative environmental impacts associated with fluorine-based Durable Water Repellents (DWR) according to a new study. Research among more than 1,000 consumers in the UK, Germany, the US and Scandinavia found 70 per cent of consumers are in the dark about the negative environmental impacts associated with DWRs. The same research found more than three quarters of consumers (77 per cent) believe water repellency to be 'very important' for non-insulated jackets.
