Garment workers, trade unions and workers' rights campaigners recently staged a rally in Leicester, UK, in protest at job losses, factory closures and worker rights.
The rally, held at the city's Spinney Hill Park, came about after local suppliers and garment workers reported a significant drop in orders coming in from fashion brands. Suppliers warned that brands sourcing garments in the city are demanding price reductions, even on orders already made and delivered, which is making their businesses unviable.
