AMSTERDAM – Renewable chemistry specialist Avantium has reinforced its partnership with chemical giant SCG Chemicals to pilot the production of PLGA (polylactic-co-glycolic acid), a key raw material for polyester production.
Avantium’s Volta technology uses electrochemistry to convert CO2 captured directly from the air to high-value products and chemical building blocks including glycolic acid.
