MADRID - Spanish pulp manufacturer and biomass specialist, Ence and Swedish start-up ShareTex have claimed success in their first tests to chemically recycle discarded textiles into new fibres.
The process involves the conversion of blended or cellulose-based waste textiles into dissolving pulp or a glucose solution, which can then be used as the building blocks in the production of recycled fibres or other applications such as packaging and tissue manufacturing.
