LAFAYETTE – Chemical manufacturer Sustainea is partnering with plant-based ingredient supplier Primient on a $400 million facility to produce bio-based MEG (monoethylene glycol), a key ingredient in the polyester manufacturing process.

The deal will see Primient supply corn dextrose from its facility in Lafayette, Indiana, to Sustainea’s first bio-MEG plant, which will be located on a neighbouring site, to produce a renewable, plant-based alternative to fossil fuel-based MEG.
