ANN ARBOR - US biotech firm Kraig Biocraft Laboratories has begun the largest production cycle to date of its BAM-1 line of spider silk hybrids, which can be used to produce textiles that are antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, and biodegradable.
Using the expanded capacity of its new production rearing centre, the new rearing cycle is expected to more than double the company’s previous single-batch production record.
