IZMIR - A research team from the Department of Textile Engineering at Ege University in Turkey has been studying the effects of finishing processes on physical properties of knitted fabrics produced using recycled cotton fibres.

Following a series of tests, the team found that final quality of recycled fabrics can be regulated by varying the finishing processes, and that the use of compact yarns – essentially yarns with fewer long hairs enabling a reduction in the amount of sizing agent required, ensured a higher strength of the final fabric.
