AMSTERDAM – A new traceability project on textile waste aims to establish a validated and standardised framework for collecting and exchanging data between the point of origin of the textile feedstock and the recyclers.

The two-year project has been launched by Fashion for Good and Textile Exchange in a bid to harmonise and scale this type of data collection through an open-source data template, and a glossary of terms that can feed into both new and existing voluntary textile recycling standards.

The project is receiving support from Control Union, Adidas, Target, Bestseller, Norrøna, and Levi Strauss & Co.
