LENZING – Current CEO of Archroma Textile Effects, Rohit Aggarwal, who also ran Huntsman Textile Effects before it was bought by Archroma in 2022, will take over as the new boss of Lenzing after the departure of CEO Stephan Sielaff – expected latest in March 2025.

This is also a significant move for the wider and highly competitive man-made cellulosic fibre sector as well as for Lenzing which is under pressure due to high costs and lower sales margins.

Suzano, the world’s largest producer of cellulosic pulp – based in Brazil – recently bought a 15% stake in Lenzing with the option to double this by the end of 2028, which is reflective of a market where Chinese viscose suppliers such as Sateri – controlled by the giant Royal Golden Eagle Group – are also looking for ways to increase their regional presence and market share.
