PRATO - Textile manufacturer Beste has spent more than €10 million ($10.9m) on a project to return cotton growing to Italy as part of a supply chain stretching from fibre to finished product.
Along with substantial investments in machinery and new technologies, Beste recruited an international team of cotton specialists for the project to create Itaco-branded Italian organic cotton as early as this autumn.
