AMSTERDAM – The ZDHC Foundation, which works towards the zero discharge of hazardous chemicals, will hold its Impact Day conference in Amsterdam next month under the theme ‘Chemistry in Fashion Transforming Business’.

The one-day event, which will take place on 19 June at the city’s Tobacco Theatre, will focus on the critical role of technology and transparency in driving innovation, and address greenwashing, emerging standards and regulations with regards to sustainability in the textile industry.

It will also present new tools and solutions aimed at accelerating change and expanding the focus of the ZDHC to tackle several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals including clean water and sanitation, responsible production and consumption, climate action, and life on land.

Following opening remarks from Frank Michel, ZDHC CEO, the morning session will kick-off with a keynote speech from award-winning producer and cinematographer Roger Williams.

This will be followed by a panel discussion under the theme, ‘Using storytelling in advancing systemic change’. The panel will include Bettina Heller of the United Nations Environment Programme, Roger Williams, Lisa Mazotta from RiverBlue, and Jolien Walhof from interactive media company, Water Bear.

Next on the agenda is a keynote speech from Frank Michel and Scott Echols, chief impact officer, ZDHC, who will explore ‘MRSL Beyond Fashion’.

The afternoon session will begin with key highlights from the latest ZDHC Impact Report, followed by a chemical suppliers panel discussion under the theme, ‘Mill Engagement Programme’.

The event will then conclude with a presentation and panel discussion covering ‘Navigating CSRD: ZDHC's Path to Enhanced Traceability and Data Transparency’, and a recognition ceremony celebrating brand achievements.
