MONTREAL – Loop Industries, which offers technology that can chemically recycle low-grade polyester infinitely, has signed a joint venture agreement with polymer manufacturer Ester Industries to build a new Infinite Loop manufacturing facility in India.
Construction of the $165 million facility, which will produce the polyester raw materials rDMT (recycled dimethyl terephthalate) and rMEG (recycled mono-ethylene glycol), as well as speciality polymers from waste, is expected to be complete at the end of 2026 with commercial operations commencing in early 2027.
